Specialist in drug discovery science, molecular biology, and immunology. Graduated from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tokyo and earned a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tokyo Graduate School. He has held research positions at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York, USA), and RIKEN (Japan). Since 1999, he has been a Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo University of Science. Since his tumor virus research at Memorial Sloan Kettering, he has consistently focused on identifying therapeutic target molecules, developing antibody production methods, and advancing antibody-based drug development. He has produced over 700 research antibodies and holds world-leading achievements in diagnostic and therapeutic antibody development.
